My favorite memory of Nance is when we spent an afternoon piled up on the couch, talking about her life. We spoke of her childhood, her children, her trials and tribulations, and all of the wonderful experiences she had in her life. She was surrounded by people who loved her, and whom she loved in return. In an excerpt from an email she sent to me during October of last year, she said, "My father always told my boys that he was ‘tough’ and I am so like my father, that I plan to be ‘tough’ too. Each day is a glorious day, and I intend to live it to the fullest." She taught me about the beauty that can be found in our lives every day -during the "daily grind" activities that we often overlook- and she taught me to appreciate every single moment. She taught me to take more time out to talk to my daughter and spend with her, because she will only be little for a short time. And most importantly, she taught me to tell people how much I love them, because they may not know, otherwise. I love you, Nance.
