William 'Bill' Dull, 66, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Le Mars, Iowa.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Willow Creek Shelter House in Le Mars. The time will be announced later. Arrangements are with the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's name to the Gehlen golf teams.
Bill was born on February 8, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Paul and Bonnie (Burgard) Dull. The family moved to Detroit, Mi, where he became a lifelong Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. In 1964, the family moved to Le Mars.
He graduated from Gehlen in 1977. He was passionate about all sports, particularly golf, where his love of the game grew as a member of the Gehlen golf team. Growing up, it was not uncommon for Bill to spend the whole day on the original 9-hole golf course.
He continued his education at the University of Iowa.
Bill and his brother Don formed American Painters Inc. where their business took them across the states.
While battling cancer, Bill and Tami spent their time between Spirit Lake, Iowa and Australia receiving treatment allowing him to maintain his quality of life.
Survived by his partner, Tami Barbagallo; his siblings; Paula Niemann, Margaret Britton, Mark (Tamie) Dull, Bev Burik, Dan (Lynn) Dull, and Don (Teresa) Dull, sisters-in-law Anne Dull and Carol Lynn Dull; His extended family, Terri (Paul) Ashmore, Nick (Mary) Hentges, Jimmy (Jacque) Hentges who generously shared charitable and emotional support to Bill and his family; and his nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bonnie Dull; His brothers, Jim and Jay; nieces Kelly Scott, Amy Dull, and Elizabeth Burik; his nephew Jeffery Dull; Brother-in-laws, John Britton and Joe Niemann.
Bill was infamous for tagging his friends and family with clever nicknames.
