Wanda J. Mammen, 78, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Dr. Jean Ziettlow will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to mauerjohnsonfh.com.

Wanda Jean Mammen was born in Le Mars, Iowa on March 13, 1944, the daughter of Carl W. and Vera H. (Grosenheider) Mammen. She grew up on a farm in Stanton Township, where she loved to be outdoors and spend time with her pets. She attended Stanton Elementary School and graduated from Le Mars High School in 1962.

Wanda was the Deputy City Clerk for the City of Le Mars for several years, then worked in the Le Mars office of Sioux Tools. She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Wanda is survived by an older sister, Joanne North, of Bonita Springs, FL; several cousins; and special friends, Charles Kruse and Beverly Van Buskirk.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
