Vernon F. Grasz, 85, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Vernon Fred Grasz was born on August 25, 1937, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Hannah (Wilken) Grasz. He was raised on a farm in Grant Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa. Vernon attended school in Brunsville, Iowa.

Vernon and Pearl Pat (Klein) Weenink were united in marriage on August 6, 1965, in Elk Point, South Dakota. Vernon was a farm hand and worked at Sheehan Produce and Dubuque Packing in Le Mars. He also attended many auctions and rummage sales and would refurbish furniture for resale. He and Pat also bought and refurbished homes that they rented. Both of them loved to go fishing.

He is survived by his step-children, Connie Sager and her husband, Louie Eugene of Lawton, IA and Robert Weenink and his wife, Connie of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Chadwick Sager, Misty Weenink and Shaun Broyhill and Dustin Weenink; a great-grandchild, Chase Broyhill; a brother, Larry Grasz and his wife, Dorothy of Le Mars, IA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Grasz of Le Mars, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pearl on November 10, 2020; and brothers, Lester Grasz, Orval (Jeanine) Grasz and Norman (Sally) Grasz.
