Obituary

Obituary for Raymond Walter Wiese Raymond W. Wiese, 77, of Le Mars passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa. Rev. Steven Stoll will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Tuesday.

Raymond Walter Wiese was born on November 26, 1936 in Westfield, Iowa to Roy and Marian (Boyle) Wiese. He began school in Westfield and later attended high school in Le Mars. On September 2, 1960 Raymond and Joan Peters were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Raymond worked at Gus Pech Manufacturing for 35 years as a machinist. He retired in 2009. Raymond was a "jack of all trades". If it was broke, he would fix it! He loved helping his daughters with whatever task they had.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hinton, Iowa. In his spare time Raymond enjoyed playing cards with Joan and his grandchildren and putting puzzles together. He also enjoyed family gatherings and visiting with friends.

He loved, and was loved by his his wife of 54 years, Joan of Le Mars; his four daughters and their families, Cindy and Randy Riediger of Hinton, Iowa, Carlee, Jenna and Riley Riediger, Sandra and Todd Erickson of Urbandale, Iowa, Cassi and Shauna Erickson, Brenda Dixson and her special friend, Tom Ruhland of Le Mars, and her sons, Tyler Simons, Cole Simons and his special friend Mariya Sitzmann and Justin Dixson, Rachel and Tom Durr of Le Mars, Brittney Mulder and special friend Justin Jolin, Scott Durr and his special friend Kelsey Schilmoeller and their son, Cooper and Aislinn Durr; a sister, Bernice and Darrell Reiter of Le Mars; special nieces and nephew, Linda Williams, Laurie Kluver, Bill D. Wiese, along with several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Nancy LaRae; a son-in-law, Jim Dixson; a brother, William; a sister-in-law Joyce Wiese; and a brother-in-law, Noel "Pete" Peters.
