Le Mars, Iowa – Paul E. Stahmer, 85, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's in Sioux City. He will be buried next to his wife Marilyn in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, Colorado at a later date.

Paul Edgar Stahmer was born on October 22, 1934 in Cylinder, Iowa to Rev. H. D. and Celeste (Jensen) Stahmer. He graduated from Le Mars High School. On June 2, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Hirsch in Churdan, Iowa. He worked as a security officer at Woodward Governor in Fort Collins, CO. Paul was a member of Grace Lutheran Church when he lived in Le Mars.

He is survived by his son, Alan Stahmer of Harris, IA; his brothers, Philip Stahmer of Chelmsford, MA and Nathan (Gloria) Stahmer of Phoenix, AZ; his sisters, Ruth Peters of Spirit Lake, IA and Eunice Easton of Ames, IA; his grandchildren, Christy Hoffmann and Daniel Joseph "Joe" Hoffmann, both of Bozeman, MT and his nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marilyn on June 24, 2002 and his daughter Janet Hoffmann on March 7, 1994
