Obituary for Margaret Rose Mohning (Kuttler) Margaret R. Mohning, 93, of Hotchkiss, Colorado, formerly of formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Paonia Care Center in Paonia, Colorado. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Timothy Geitz will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Saturday.

Anna Margaret Rose Kuttler was born January 24, 1925 to Jakob and Elise (Whittle) Kuttler. She was raised on a farm between Remsen and Marcus, Iowa. Marge graduated from Marcus Public High School in 1943 and went on to further her education at Nettleton Business Training School where she obtained a Business Certificate in 1946.

On June 22, 1947 Marge married the love of her life, Merlin Henry Mohning in Remsen, Iowa. Margaret and Merlin made their home in Le Mars, Iowa until moving to Hotchkiss, Colorado in 1982. To this union five children were born. The couple had the honor of sharing 65 years of love and marriage before Merlin passed away November 12, 2012.

Marge was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Paonia, Colorado and also belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In her free time Marge enjoyed quilting, gardening, embroidering, canning, but most of all she cherished time traveling and fishing with her husband and loving her grandchildren.

Marge is survived by two sons, Donald Mohning (Sue) and Paul Mohning (Maxine); daughters, Evelyn Roseberry (Bill), Janet Murray (Don), and Lois Rozman (Rudy); sister, Victoria Ott. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Hilda Mohning.
