Obituary

Obituary for Margaret Jean Mayrose (Neyens) Margaret J. Mayrose, 85, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. James Church in Le Mars. Father Paul Eisele will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a Scriptural Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to Mass on Monday.

Margaret Jean Mayrose was born on September 5, 1930 at home in Hinton, Iowa to Jake and Veronica (Ruhland) Neyens. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph School in Le Mars. On September 27, 1952, Margaret and John A. Mayrose were united in marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Neptune, Iowa.

Along with raising her five children, Margaret worked at Montgomery Ward from 1965 to 1985, Designer's Cove from 1986 to 1990 and Westmar College from 1990 to 1997. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish – St. James Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She has a special coffee group that she enjoyed along with luncheon dates with friends. Most of all her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Pat (Jerry) Deegan of Clive, IA, Doug (Karen) Mayrose, JoAnn (Kevin) Sitzmann and Russ (Linda) Mayrose all of Le Mars, Iowa; grandchildren, Tim Deegan of Chicago, IL, Chris (Ginny) Deegan of Berkeley, CA, Matt (Jori) Deegan of Elmhurst, IL, Jamie Mayrose of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff (Heather) Mayrose of the Philippines, Chad (Katherine) Sitzmann of Tampa, FL, Tara (Curt) Allen of Le Mars, IA, Kris (Steve) Patton of Lenexa, KS, Kate (Samuel) Bouyain of Kansas City, MO; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin (Marilyn) Neyens of Le Mars, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Don; grandson, John; an infant sister, Madonna; and brothers, Wilbur (Joan) Neyens and Marvin (Lil) Neyens.
