Obituary for Lyle Emmett Kunath Lyle Emmett Kunath was born on February 15, 1926 on the family's farm north of Seney, Iowa to John and Josie (Osborne) Kunath. After graduating from Alton High School, Lyle enlisted in the United States Army on April 9, 1945, where he honorably served during World War II. He earned his honorable discharge on December 14, 1946. After his service, Lyle farmed until age thirty-six and then began working in printing. Lyle then worked as a type setter at Artisan Press and retired in June of 1991.

Lyle enjoyed Polka Music, watching Lawrence Welk, The Kansas City Royals, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed watching baseball and Grand Ole Opry. Lyle could always be found reading the newspaper. Lyle was a member of the Seney United Methodist Church for many years.

He is survived by his special friend Rene Hampton and her family of Osmond, Nebraska as well as other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; John and Josie (Osborne) Kunath.
