Larry L. Grasz, 91, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mars, Iowa. Burial with military honors will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Larry Loudell Grasz was born on November 17, 1933, in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Hannah (Wilken) Grasz. He attended country school near his home until the 8th grade. His first jobs were at Brock's Bowling Alley and at local Co-Op. Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952, attending basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Larry served during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Naknek, Alaska. He was then transferred to Edwards Air Force Base in California and served with the Air Police. While in California, Larry restored a 1953 Lincoln. After 4 years, he earned an Honorable Discharge and returned to Plymouth County. Larry began work for the government as a surveyor in Iowa and Missouri.
On October 18, 1959, Larry and Dorothy Ann Beitelspacher were united in marriage at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Le Mars, Iowa. Larry then became a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an officer for several years. He took a position with the Plymouth County Co-Op and worked there a few years before beginning work at Meis Seed and Feed in Le Mars. He worked there for over 33 years, before retiring in November of 1998.
While living in Alaska, Larry learned leather crafting and taught himself to play the guitar. He was also a handyman and enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors and working in his yard and garden. Larry also enjoyed sitting on the front porch visiting with the neighbors, being with family and attending and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their school activities.
Grateful to have shared his life is his wife of 65 years, Dorothy of Le Mars, IA; his children, Lisa (Paul Rosauer) Bogh of Anthon, IA; Kelvin Grasz of Blair, NE, Alan Grasz of Le Mars, IA and Linda (Mark) Foust of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Bogh of Adel, IA, Philip Bogh of Le Mars, IA, Marissa (Ian) Magill of Joppa, MD, Kaitlyn (David) Spencer of Bel Air, MD, Megan Bukowski of Bel Air, MD; step-grandchildren, Danielle Foust of Bel Air, MD, Kelly (Joshua) Popp of Darlington, MD; great-grandchildren, Haley Bogh of New Prague, MN, Addison Bogh, Tegan Bogh, Avery Bogh and Jacob Bogh all of Le Mars , IA, Wyatt Spencer and Eloise Spencer of Bel Air, MD; step-great-grandchildren, Ethyn Richardson of Adel, IA, Matthew Sharpe of Bel Air, MD; sisters-in-law, Rosetta Borchers of St. Paul, MN, Evelyn (Ed) Oltmanns of Des Moines, IA and Ruth Grasz of Le Mars, IA.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Wendy Grasz; granddaughter-in-law, Shannon Bogh; brothers, Orval (Jeanine) Grasz, Norman (Sally) Grasz, Vernon (Pat) Grasz and Lester Grasz; mother-in-law, Annie M.C. Hennigs, fathers-in-law, Oscar Beitelspacher, Edward Plueger and Hilbert Hennigs; sister-in-law, Irene (Richard) Hanson; brothers-in-law, Edwin Plueger and Reuben Borchers.
