Obituary

Kimberley A. Johnson, 60, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. A gathering to share memories will follow at the Eagles Cub in Le Mars. Visitation with social distancing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5 – 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the funeral service on Saturday.

Kimberley Ann Struble was born on September 1, 1959, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Martin Dean and LaVaughn Karon (Sands) Struble. She attended school at Anthon-Oto schools and later at Le Mars Community High School. She continued her education at Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City where she majored in business.

On March 5, 1976, Kim married Terry Sanow in Le Mars, Iowa. They had two children Karen and Jeremy. She worked at Aalfs Manufacturing for a few years but most of her working career was spent in the restaurant and bar industry. In 1985, she was married to Terry Johnson and had two more children Brandi and Tanner. Kim cooked at numerous restaurants in the area including the Eagles Club, Corner Café and Uncle Albert's. She enjoyed the last 5 years with her special friend Wade Allen and owning her bar Rumors in Le Mars and working two other jobs, Arbys and cooking at the Eagles Club.

Kim enjoyed golfing and traveling. She loved to be by the water and boating with her family. She was an avid football fan, the Minnesota Vikings being her favorite team.

Grateful to have shared her life are her children, Karen Cooper and her husband, Quinn of Le Mars, IA, Jeremy Sanow and his wife, Megan of Le Mars, IA, Brandi Erickson and her husband, Benjamin of Sioux City, IA and Tanner Ladwig of Spencer, IA; grandchildren, Alyvia, Rodrick, Cassidy, Blade, Madison, Jaedyn, Jaeron, Jaezin, Jaekub, Gracie, Ella, Veda, Bennett and Liliana; a great grandchild, Addylinn; her step-father, William Adkins of Onawa, IA; a brother, Randy Struble of Sioux City, IA; and a sister, Sherry Thoms and her husband, Todd of Lake Park, IA.

She was preceded in death by her birth father, Martin Struble; mother, LaVaughn Adkins; a sibling in infancy, Veronica Struble; and her maternal grandparents, Harold and Edna Sands.
