Kevin M. Muhm, 68, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Kevin Merle Muhm was born on April 11, 1953, in Britt, Iowa to Merle and Lola (Madsen) Muhm. He graduated from West Hancock High School in 1971. Following graduation, Kevin took a position with Winnebago Motor Homes in Forest City, Iowa along with majoring in refrigeration at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa. Upon completing his degree, Kevin moved to Le Mars, Iowa in 1975 and began work at McCormick's Distributing.

Kevin met Patrice Ann Lake in Le Mars and they were later married on June 2, 1979, at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa. In 1979 Kevin began working for Harker's Meats (Later Tyson). He remained working there until their closure in 2008 when he took his last position at Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO), retiring in 2018.

Kevin was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars. In his spare time he enjoyed time with his family, golfing, hunting, fishing, and riding his new recumbent bike. He was handy around the house, with his large tool collection, and always enjoyed tinkering on various projects both at home and for other people. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and usually watched with his faithful companion, Chloe on his lap.

Grateful to have shared his life is his wife of 42 years, Patti Muhm of Le Mars, IA; two sons, Tony Muhm of Chicago, IL and Eric Muhm of Norwalk, IA; a sister and her husband, Paulette and Kevin Westerberg of West Frankfort, IL; and two brothers, Brian Muhm Council Bluffs, IA and Bradley Muhm of Garner, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
