Le Mars, Iowa – Joan M. Vondrak, 93, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at her home in Le Mars, following a long and courageous battle with dementia. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Father Timothy Pick will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Joan Mae Vondrak was born August 17, 1931, at Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Lila (Brower) Bolton. She began her education at Country School Elkhorn #4 and graduated from Union Consolidated High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Eldon J. Vondrak on September 25, 1951, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds, Iowa. He passed away on March 7, 1998.

Joan worked various jobs; but what she loved the most was being a mother, grandmother and great grama. You would often hear her say "Let me tell you about my grandchildren" or "Do they know who your grandmother is?" Joan was a member of All Saints Parish in Le Mars. She enjoyed going to coffee with friends and lots of card playing.

Survivors include a son, Scott Vondrak and daughter Debbie Jo Vondrak both of Le Mars, IA; four grandchildren, Lyndsi Rai Price of Le Mars, Malori Kai (Christy) Price of Story City, IA, Ethan (Special Friend Jesus Jimenez) Price and Austin (Katie) Price both of Le Mars, IA; two step-grandchildren, Nick Singer of Orem, UT and Sarah Singer of Le Mars, IA; two great-grandchildren, Quinnly Greta and Rhett Geoffrey Price; three step great-grandchildren, Sydney and Sophie Lively and Kassidy Singer; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews; and special friends including her "bestie", Evelyn Stream from Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Kevin Singer; parents, Walter and Lila Bolton; parents-in-law, Frank and Gertrude Vondrak; sister and her husband, Bonnie (Landon) Wymore; brother and his wife, Ted (Valeria) Bolton; all twenty-four of her Vondrak brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; along with many other beloved family members.
