Jharleth Theresa Sitzmann, affectionately known as Ginger, was born on March 15, 1932, on a farm in Cherokee, Iowa, to her proud parents, Ray and Mary (Cox) Meylor. She was the third youngest of eight siblings. Ginger's journey in life was a remarkable one. She attended Pilot #5, a one-room school house until her high school years when she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Cherokee in 1949 where she was the homecoming queen of her class. She went on to further her education at St Joseph's School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa, and proudly earned her degree as a registered nurse.

On February 7, 1953, Ginger married the love of her life Roman Francis Sitzmann at Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee, Iowa. They began their life's journey together on a farm near Kingsley, Iowa. Tragically, Roman passed away in 1967 when Ginger was pregnant, leaving her to raise their six children on her own. Despite the challenges that life presented, she faced them with grace, becoming a homemaker, chef, caretaker, master gardener, EMT, nurse, counselor, and, most importantly, the best mother a child could wish for.

In addition to her many roles, Ginger was a member of several organizations, including the Retired Nurses Club, Catholic Daughters, St Joseph's Catholic Church, Meals on Wheels, R & R Club, and she was a founding member of the LeMars Ambulance Crew. She loved the theatre and in her younger years acted in several plays with the LeMars Community Theatre. Her artistic talents were evident through her beautiful pieces, which will be cherished for generations to come. She selflessly gave her time, talent, and treasure to those in need and used her nursing skills to help many pass with dignity over the rainbow bridge. Ginger lived a life dedicated to her Faith, Family, and Friends. She attended daily mass and holy hour. She always shared her love for the Lord through her actions and deeds. She never missed an opportunity to express her devotion. A favorite quote of hers was, "Don't keep the faith, spread it around!" Ginger was passionate, hard working, compassionate and fun! She had her share of curve balls thrown her way, but through it all she lived her life with grace, spunk and a passion for life that was passed to all who knew her. No matter how she was feeling, whenever anyone asked how she was doing, she always replied, "Maaaavelous"!

Ginger is survived by her six loving children: Patrick (Maureen) Sitzmann, Jerome (Christy) Sitzmann, Daniel (Kathy) Sitzmann, Ramona (Russ) Mitchell, Frank (Maria) Sitzmann, and Shaun (Michael) Simmer. She also leaves behind 19 cherished grandchildren and 3 great-children. She has one remaining sibling, Ramona (Al) Kennedy as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. Special people to mention that have gone above and beyond to show her their love are her nieces and nephews Sandy & Dave Updegraff as well as her brother RJ's daughters Patti, Theresa, Suzie and Debbie.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Roman, and her parents Ray and Mary Meylor, as well as her siblings, Paul Meylor and his wife, Betty; Ann Hoomany and her husband John; Don Meylor; Mary Elaine Meylor; RJ Meylor and his wife Ann, and Dean Meylor, along with many extended family members on Roman's side of the family. Ginger's legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will live on in the hearts and memories
