Jeanette Louise Schuetz, 78, of Marcus, Iowa passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at her home. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church in Marcus. Rev. Alan Cummins will officiate. Burial will follow at Marcus Amherst Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
Jeanette Louise Juhl was born on September 23, 1943 on a farm north of Marcus, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Esther (Lassen) Juhl. She was Baptized in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Remsen, Iowa and Confirmed at the Carmel Lutheran Church in Marcus. Jeanette attended Marcus High School, graduating in 1962. Following graduation, she worked at a local restaurant and Nagle's Apparel.
Jeanette married Francis Schuetz and they were blessed with a son, Steven. Jeanette began the operation of her daycare from her home when Steven was a child. She would continue for the next 40 years. Jeanette and Francis were later divorced.
Jeanette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and participated in WELCA. She enjoyed cooking and baking and entertaining during the holidays. She and her son, Steven taught Sunday School for many years to preschool age children.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Steven Schuetz of Marcus, IA; sisters, Elaine Rassel of Marcus, IA and Carolyn Albrecht of Spencer, IA; nieces and nephews, Brian (Mindy) Albrecht, Jason (Kelley) Albrecht, Jeffrey (Lori) Rassel, Rodney (Sarah) Rassel, Cameron (Gina) Rassel, Zachary Rassel, Jesse (Amber) Rassel, Jennifer (Scott) Allen and Bethany Rassel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece and nephew, Jean and Justin Charlton; and brothers-in-law, Floyd Rassel and Clifton "Ike" Albrecht.
Memorials in Jeanette's name may be taken to Farmers State Bank in Marcus.
