Ina Marie Lindstrom was born on November 23, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Ina grew up on a farm outside Albert City. She was Baptized and Confirmed in the Albert City Evangelical Covenant Church. She was a starting player of the high school girls basketball state tournament team in 1956 and the Albert City Homecoming Queen. Her journey led her to Bethel College and the University of Iowa, where she studied and became a registered nurse. Ina's compassionate spirit led her to serve as a nurse in Iowa City, Des Moines, and Kansas City. On February 15, 1964, she married Tom Bjorge in Albert City, and together they moved to Le Mars in 1968, where they raised four children.
A Christian woman, Ina was not only a beloved member of her family but also an integral part of her community and church, Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars. Her faith was evident in her roles as an adviser at Brentwood Good Samaritan and her active participation in the Christian Women's Club, Linger Longer, and local Bible studies. Ina volunteered for Meals on Wheels, local health screenings, and many church activities.
Ina found joy in gardening and her pets. She taught her children valuable skills such as sewing and cooking, all while emphasizing the importance of love and appreciation for one another.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. She was a sports enthusiast of the Le Mars Bulldogs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Her Swedish meatballs, honey oatmeal bread, and chocolate cake were legendary within the family, as was her thoughtfulness in remembering birthdays and anniversaries.
Ina is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Tom Bjorge; and children, Karin (and Todd Rand) with grandchildren Trina, Kari, and Johanna; Dr. Jill (and Jeff Nelson) with grandchildren, Henrik and Ingrid; Jan (and wife Bernadette); Britt (and Michael Krizmanich) with grandchildren, Annika, Linnea, Lars, and Maja. She is also survived by her sister, Dee Ann Heisler (and Tim), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Ina's parents, Einar and Bobby (Sweet) Lindstrom, and her son-in-law, Dr.Thor Swanson, preceded her in death.
The family extends thanks to Dr. Sheila Holcomb and staff at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars and the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and grace of her Lord and Savior.
