Gloria Jean (Kurth) Pattison

Gloria Pattison, 83, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Lexington Estates in Independence, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Father Bruce Lawler from All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Attendees are asked to wear red, her favorite color, to her services. Arrangements are with the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com.

Gloria Jean Kurth, the daughter of Raymond and Freida (Weifenbach) Kurth, was born on December 5, 1942, in Mapleton, Iowa. She attended school in Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School in 1961.

On June 8, 1961, Gloria and Roger Pattison were united in marriage in Mapleton, Iowa. Early on, they made their home in Denison, Iowa, where Gloria was homemaker for her family. Working opportunities for Roger had them moving to a few communities before settling in Le Mars in 1979. After her children were grown, Gloria worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee in Le Mars. Later, she worked in production at Harker’s Distribution in Le Mars until her retirement. Roger passed away on June 24, 2022.

Gloria was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish – St. James Church in Le Mars. Anyone that met Gloria knew that red was her favorite color. Gloria enjoyed bowling league in Le Mars for many years. She also enjoyed boating with family and friends. Knitting and crocheting was also an enjoyment for Gloria. She made many afghans for her family and friends.

Grateful to have shared her life is a son, Todd (Alicia) Pattison of Annapolis, MD; a daughter, Robin (David) Eick of Oelwein, IA; a daughter, Becky (Patrick) Tuttle of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren: Jennifer Lahn, Sarah (Brady) Barthole, Andy (Cortney) Pattison, Amy Pattison, Samantha Eick, and William Eick; seven great grandchildren: Zoe Pattison, Beau Pattison, Kallen Pattison, Hunter Lahn, Remington Lahn, Conner Barthole, and Hudson Barthole; step great grandchildren: Jaxon and Rylan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Pattison; her brother, Ray; and four sisters, Luella, Florene, Donna, and Dorothy.
