Le Mars, Iowa – Elijah Scott Peters, 10, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Floyd Valley Healthcare following injuries suffered in a bicycle/motor vehicle accident in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Christian Meier will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church.
Elijah Scott Peters was born on August 11, 2011, in Orange City, Iowa to Eric Peters and Kyla (Plueger) Peters. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Elijah attended Head Start and then T-K at Kluckhohn Elementary School. He was currently in the 4th grade at Franklin Elementary School.
During his young life, he was active in Little League, basketball camp, football, wrestling and school activities. Elijah loved to go fishing, camping, helping his mom cook and loved any kind of ice cream treat. He especially enjoyed family Sunday Fun Days where he loved the food and watching the Seahawks and the Chiefs. He was always smiling and telling jokes. Elijah loved to tell stories and give and receive hugs. He was an awesome brother to his siblings and was very helpful in taking care of them. Elijah liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, playing video games, listening to his music and all kinds of sports. He attended Explorer's Baseball games and liked the Vala Pumpkin Patch near Omaha, NE. He had numerous friends and was loved by all.
Elijah is survived by his parents, Eric Peters of Sloan, IA and Kyla and James Dean of Le Mars, IA; his siblings, Dustyn, Cali and Mariah Peters all of Le Mars, IA, Alyssa (Dylan) Feller of Remsen, IA, Chloe and Riley Peters of Alton, IA, Brianne Schneiders of Sioux City, IA, Jalissa Connors, Erykah Karels, Pieper Spaulding all of Omaha, NE, Chloe Hill of The Colony, TX, Kiara and Hailey Severson of Le Mars, IA, Acacia, Blaise, Caine and Braelynn Dean all of Sioux City, IA; 8 nieces and nephews; his grandparents Bruce and Jill Peters of Sloan, IA, Renee Clark of Granville, IA and Blaine Foreman of Le Mars, IA; his aunts and uncles, Chad (Kourtney) Peters of Merrill, IA, Abbey (Brett Armstrong) Foreman of Le Mars, IA, Kendra (James Kreinert) Gloden of Akron, IA, Kari (Chris) Dominguez of Overland Park, KS and Kelsey Clark of Cedar Falls, IA; many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kermit Clark; his great-grandparents, Larry and Betty Plueger, Leroy and Janice Peters and Marcia Kloster; his great-uncle, Rick Plueger; and his cousin, Aiden Ratliff.
