Dennis L. Schleef, 76, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa.

Dennis Lyle Schleef was born on August 6, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Violet (Walker) Schleef. He was raised in Le Mars, Iowa where he graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1966. Denny enlisted in the United States Amry on April 29, 1969. He served as a Signal Corps Instructor at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey and attained the rank of SP5 prior to earning an Honorable Discharge on November 23, 1970. In 1973, Denny moved to Yonkers, New York and worked at Sound One Corporation as an audio engineer. He returned to the area and worked as a photographer for the Estherville Daily News.

In Le Mars, Denny worked at the Municipal Airport, the DX truck stop, Champlin Truck Stop, Ruhland Nursery, Pride Group, and he operated Denny's Technical Services. He was a lover of aviation and remote controlled vehicles.

He is survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
