Denny Rolfes, 73, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his home. Services will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Father Bruce Lawler will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. A private family burial with military honors will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Dennis Bernard Rolfes was born on March 16, 1951, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Mary (Didier) Rolfes. He graduated from Gehlen Catholic High School in 1970. During those years he volunteered with the Le Mars Fire Department. Following high school, Denny enlisted in the United States Navy on July 1, 1971. He served in San Diego, California until earning an Honorable Discharge on March 2, 1973, and returned to Le Mars. Denny enrolled at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa where he studied welding. He would later return to take courses as a machinist. Denny spent his entire career at Gus Pech Manufacturing in Le Mars. In his spare-time, he enjoyed camping, fishing and motorcycling. He was the last surviving member of his coffee group.

Denny will be lovingly remembered by his six siblings, Sharon Schelling and her husband, Robert of Sioux Center, IA, Doug Rolfes and his wife, Jane of Clarkdale, AZ, Mary Gengler of Pocahontas, IA, Dave Rolfes and his wife, Cindy of Le Mars, IA and Jack Rolfes and his wife, Bev of Orange City, IA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Michael David Rolfes.
