Dale Ray Nuzum, 77, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home in Le Mars. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Spring Valley Cemetery in Moorhead, Iowa.

Dale Ray Nuzum was born on December 13, 1945, in Pisgah, Iowa, the son of Howard and Beatrice (Coate) Nuzum. He attended school at Woodbine Community Schools. Following school, Dale worked at various construction jobs. He later worked in the lawn care industry in Williston, North Dakota for 16 years. He returned to the area and was employed at a grocery store in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Dale moved to Le Mars 15 years ago to retire.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeane Hytrek of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Shayne (Kristina) Sears of Logan, IA, Nick (Jessica) Sears of Missouri Valley, IA, Derek (Emily) Sears of Logan, IA, James Sears of Biloxi, MS and Jade (Justin) McEvoy of Persia, IA; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Hargroves of Holstein, IA, Joyce (Gary) Williams of Le Mars, IA, Patricia (Ronald) Johnson of Calumet, IA and Diane Theisen of Logan, IA; brothers, Allan (Joyce) Nuzum of Wabasha, MN and Jack Nuzum of Williston, ND; a sister-in-law, Nettie Nuzum of Woodbine, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Kristin Collier; an infant sister, Shirley; sisters, Bonnie (Bil) Martin, Colleen (Earl) Martin, Darlene (Wilbur) Moore, JoAnn (Jay) Runyan and Carol Nuzum; an infant brother, Kenneth; brothers, Robert Nuzum, Leo (Shirley) Nuzum, DeWayne "Gary" (Charlene) Nuzum; a sister-in-law, Shirley Nuzum; and brothers-in-law, Rex Hargroves and Larry Theisen.
