Obituary for Cyrilla Rose Nordstrom (Dreckman) Cyrilla Rose Nordstrom, 96, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Father Paul Eisele will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church and will continue until Mass.

Cyrilla Rose Dreckman was born on March 17, 1918 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Christina (Dieters) Dreckman. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Le Mars. Following her education, Cyrilla assisted her parents at home.

Cyrilla married Harold Baldes in Le Mars, Iowa. They made their home on a farm south of Le Mars. Along with raising her family and farming, Cyrilla worked at The Valet Cleaners. She later married Rietzell Nordstrom in 1982 at Cherokee, Iowa.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars and a member of Christian Mothers.

Cyrilla will be lovingly remembered by her son, Allan (Carol) Baldes of Iowa City, IA; a daughter, Lois (Jim) Mentzer of Le Mars, IA; four grandchildren, Michael (Gina) Mentzer, Jill (Christopher) DeMarco, David (Tammy) Baldes and Bradley (Janice) Baldes; nine great-grandchildren, Erica Baldes, Carson Baldes, Rylie Baldes, Sofia DeMarco, Nicholas DeMarco, Grace Mentzer, Matthew Mentzer, Luke Baldes and Alex Baldes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ida Rolfes, Louise Dreckman and Rita Schafer; three brothers, Marcellas, Andrew and Rudolph.
