Caron Raye Dalton, 75, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at her daughter's home in Sarasota, Florida, following a lengthy battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Caron was born on November 15, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa to George and Carol Draisey. She had 4 older siblings which included Darlene Cardwell, Marilyn Bandza, Robert (Bob) Draisey, and Ken Draisey. Caron attended West High School in Sioux City. After high school, she worked in childcare and operated an elevator at the Younker's Department Store in Sioux City. Caron was then employed at Floyd Valley Hospital as a housekeeper for a mere 18 years.
Caron and Larry Dalton were married on January 22, 1977, at St. Boniface Church in Sioux City. They had 3 children, Lisa, Mindy and Jaylene. After retirement, Caron and Larry moved to Lake Park, Iowa where they managed the campground and she worked as a housekeeper. Caron had a keen sense of humor and was very loving and welcoming towards many people. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her family held a special place in her heart. But the grandchildren took up the most space. She loved hosting them for summers and visiting with them. She valued her family more than life itself.

Caron was preceded in death by her daughters, Lisa and Jaylene Dalton; her parents, George and Carol Draisey; sisters, Darlene Cardwell and Marilyn Bandza; brothers, Robert and Ken Draisey; sons-in-law, Brian Albertson and Rich Graves, Sr.
A huge thank-you to everyone who made Caron's life a great one.
