Barton Lee Ruby, 78, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars, Iowa. A Memorial Service was held in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Barton was born in Bagley, MN., on October 19, 1944. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. Bart was a US Navy Veteran, and was stationed out of San Diego, Calif. He returned to Iowa and worked as a machinist for 30 years at Sioux Tools in Sioux City, IA.


He is survived by his four children Kim (Doug) Helmick, Karen (Jim) Gearke, Jeff (Karen) Ruby, and Jeremy Ruby; siblings Margret LeMaster and Mike Ruby; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
