Obituary for Barbara Schrunk Barbara A. Schrunk, 82, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Danbury, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Parish – St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. Father Kevin Richter will celebrate Mass. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Danbury, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Church in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a scriptural prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to Mass on Tuesday.

Barbara Ann Schrunk, the daughter of Otto and Frances (Sohm) Schrunk was born on April 17, 1933 on a farm near Mapleton, Iowa. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Danbury and later Danbury High School. She continued her education at National Business School in Sioux City, Iowa.

Barbara's first job was with Booth Fisheries in Sioux City, Iowa. She later accepted a position with Postal Finance in Sioux City. Barbara returned to the Mapleton area and worked at Flanigan Motors. Following her work at the dealership, Barbara would work for the next 27 years at First State Bank. She retired to care for her ailing mother.

Barbara was an active and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury. She had also been a member of the Rotary Club in Mapleton. Barbara enjoyed playing cards, painting and ceramics.

She is remembered by her siblings, Odelia Schrunk of Clinton, IA, Charlie (Genevieve) Schrunk of Le Mars, IA, LeRoy (Sally) Schrunk of Le Mars, IA, Ace (Mary) Schrunk of Missouri Valley, IA, Otto (Kathi) Schrunk of Sioux City, IA, Byron (Patti) Schrunk of Tijeras, New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Tina Schrunk of Danbury, IA; 24 nieces and nephews; 39 great-nieces and nephews; and10 great-great nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Bruce; and a nephew.
