Barbara Crosgrove, 80, of Merrill, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Le Mars, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Berth Lundula of the Merrill First United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will be present from 2 – 4 p.m. on Monday to greet friends.

Barbara Jean Ruedy was born on December 26, 1943, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Allan George and Lucille Blanche (Shoemaker) Ruedy. She attended Le Mars High School. On May 12, 1962, Barbara and Jimmie Wayne Crosgrove were united in marriage at Elk Point, South Dakota. Along with raising her children, Barbara worked as a medical billing clerk at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had an extensive social network.

Grateful to have shared her life are her two sons, Brian and his wife, Christine of Bovey, MN and Michael and his wife, Khay of Bellevue, NE; six grandchildren, Abby, Shannon, Isabel, Aislinn, Andrea and Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Evangeline, Gwendolyn, Quinn and Logan; sisters, Janice Bolte of Merrill, IA and Nancy Riley of Sioux City, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marline and Tom Heuretz of Le Mars, IA, Mervin and Lila Crosgrove of Merrill, IA, Debra and Mike Burke of Waterloo, IA, Denise and Harvey Hansen of Sioux City, IA and Elsie Crosgrove of Sioux City, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmie on February 7, 2019; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dean Bolte, Bill Riley, Roger and Beverly Crosgrove and Gary Crosgrove; a niece, Kristin Halsey; and a nephew, Jon Marienau.
