Le Mars, Iowa – Arlen D. Krause, 70, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. The Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars is assisting Arlen's family with funeral arrangements. Arlen Darrell Krause was born on February 24, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa to Darrell and Phyllis (Holt) Krause. The family lived in Hinton, Iowa where Arlen graduated from Hinton High School in 1969. Following high school, Arlen enlisted in the Air Force. He was attached to the 185th Refueling Wing in Sioux City. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Hinton where he was baptized and confirmed. He was later immersed by the Assembly of God Church in Le Mars.

Arlen worked for The Hatchery in Hinton before beginning his job at Meis Elevator in Le Mars where he mixed feed for the farmers. From there, he began working at Sioux Supreme in Sioux Center, Iowa where he was a meat cutter. He was so good at this job that when the plant started cutting meat for the Japanese, he was promoted to the job of preparing the meat for them. He loved riding his motorcycle and attending the Spencer Fair each year.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Phyllis Krause of Le Mars, IA; a sister, Sue (Tom) Lindstrand; brothers, Curt Krause and Wendell (Lori) Krause all of Le Mars, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlen was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Keith Krause.
