Anthony F. Fockler, 61, of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at MercyOne in Sioux City. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Anthony Fredrick Fockler was born on July 28, 1963, in Le Mars, Iowa, to JoAnn (Fockler) Raymond. He was Baptized and Confirmed at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Anthony attended Le Mars Community High School. Following graduation, Anthony worked with his parents who drove for Allied and United Van Lines. He moved furniture for many years. More recently, he established Appliance Repair and Recycling in Sioux City. He operated this business until his health failed.
Anthony was a strong-willed man with a steadfast faith, and it was a very important part of his life. Through church he volunteered at the Salvation Army, the Warming Shelter and visited shut-in members. He was an active member and friend to all who worshipped at New Freedom Church in Sioux City. Anthony was a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and never missed a gameday. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, talking about appliances, backyard barbeques, fishing, camping and being outdoors.
Grateful to have shared his life are his children; Laina Fockler of Aurora, CO, Heather (Paul) Nelson of Seargent Bluff, IA, Justin Fockler of Omaha, NE, Marrisa Meyer (Jordan Campbell) of Sioux Falls, SD, Anthony Fockler, Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Amanda F(Fremont NE); his 30 year life partner, Luella Flieder of Sioux City, IA and her children; grandchildren, Ethan, Ehren, Haleigh, Dakota (Laurie), Dusty, Daven, Dallas, Kamryn, Zaden, Ozias, Iris, Lola, Odyssey, Serenity, Donovan, Kael, Melody, MJ, Audrey, Nolan, Hazel, Mason and Oliver; brothers, Jim (Stacey) Murphy of Topeka, KS, Stacey Newsome of Topeka, KS and Ed Raymond of Fremont, NE; foster siblings, Randy Cassens of Anthon, IA and Lori (Clark) Hummel of Lawton, IA; along with an aunt Linda and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father, Edmund Raymond; grandparents, Fred and Juanita Fockler; son, Torry Fockler; foster parents, Ray and Carol Cassens; a brother, Dallas Newsome; a foster sister, Terri Cassens-Gill; and special friends, Lyle and Hazel Mason.
