Anna Mae J. Sitzmann, 93, of Le Mars, IA, passed away January 13, 2025 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2025 at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars with Reverend Doug Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. A Rosary will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2025 at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph's. Visitation with the family present will begin immediately following the rosary and will continue until the Scriptural Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials are preferred.

Anna Mae was born on July 8, 1931, in Mapleton, IA, to Gustave and Magdalena (Flamming) Kipp. The family moved to Le Mars when she was 10 years old and she attended rural country school until 8th grade and graduated from St. Joseph High School.
Anna Mae married Merlin Sitzmann on June 13, 1951 and they lived on their family farm in Le Mars where she raised six children; Curt, Dean, Gayle, Kathy, Jody and Glenn.
Anna Mae was a caretaker at heart and after raising her children she worked as a nurse's aide and in radiology at St. Joseph Hospital in Le Mars and also as a veterinarian assistant. Later in her career she continued her caretaker role at the Pride Group in Le Mars where she was a great advocate for the residents. She was able to take them on incredible vacations and help the residents create many wonderful memories. Anna Mae worked at the Pride Group until her retirement in 2001.
Anna Mae enjoyed many hobbies in her life which included sewing, crafting, playing bingo and making cakes.
Family was the cornerstone of Anna Mae's life. You could find her attending her children's, grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events, music recitals, theatre performances, dance recitals, and family celebrations every chance she got.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Curt (Marlene) Sitzmann of Le Mars, Dean (Judy) Sitzmann of Okoboji, Gayle (Annette) Sitzmann of Le Mars, Kathy Wiltgen of South Sioux City, NE, Jodi (Pat) Westergard of Briar, WA and Glenn Sitzmann of Portland, OR; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; her sisters: Audra Moir of Le Mars and Kay Black of Phoenix, Arizona; sister in law, Kathleen Kipp of Le Mars; nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son in law, Mark Wiltgen; grandson, Pat Sitzmann; brother, Gene Kipp; and brother in laws: Dick Moir and Mike Black.
