Anita Jean Lemke, 65, of Boyden, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Heath De Jong will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Anita Jean Lemke was born on August 18, 1959, in Primghar, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Jessamine (Roos) Broocks. She attended Paullina High School, graduating in 1978. Following graduation, Anita attended NCC Community College in Sheldon, Iowa where she majored in secretarial work.

On May 28, 1988, Anita and Randal Lemke were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together, they made their home in Boyden, Iowa. Anita worked in the office at Farmer's Feed and Supply in Boyden for over 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening, thrifting and traveling with Randy. She was famous for her peanut balls at Christmas time. Anita was a king-hearted and generous person with a warm heart. She also adored her cats.

Grateful to have shared her life is her husband, Randall Lemke of Boyden, IA; a brother and his wife, Gary and Mary Broocks of Marcus, IA; nieces and nephews, Jessie (Joe) Peterson and their children, Logan and Whitney of Meriden, IA, Danny Broocks of WI and Casey (Tara) Broocks and their daughter, Evelyn of Maysville, NC; along with many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vivian and Leland Lemke; an uncle, Leo Broocks; and a cousin, Darlene Broocks.
