Douglas B. Wiederholt, 48, of Le Mars passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars, Iowa. Rev. Chris Meier will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation on Friday at the church prior to the funeral service.

Douglas Bernard Wiederholt was born on November 24, 1969 in Sioux City, Iowa, the only child of Bernard and Elaine (Siebels) Wiederholt. He was raised on a farm north of Le Mars, Iowa. Doug attended elementary school in Merrill, Iowa and later graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1989.

Following high school, Doug worked with Van’s Sanitation in Le Mars. He later worked with his mother cleaning area homes and businesses. Doug was currently employed with Goodwill Industries in Sioux City.

Doug was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. He also enjoyed working on 4-wheelers.

He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts, Rita Wiedertholt of Le Mars, IA and Aggie Wiederholt of Sioux City, Iowa; as well as many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Bernard on November 4, 2008 and Elaine on February 22, 2016; and several aunts and uncles.
