Gregory Allen James was born on December 16, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Russell A. and Marjorie A. (Petersen) James. He attended school in Merrill, Iowa and later attended Le Mars Community High School. During his high school years, he worked for Gil Winter as a farm hand. In January of 1979, Greg was involved in and auto accident that left him in a wheelchair. Even though he was in a wheelchair, nothing slowed Greg down. He worked at K-Products in Orange City prior to his marriage to Vickie Sanow at the Church of Christ in Le Mars on June 6, 1998.

Greg loved anything in the outdoors and inspired the lives of his children and grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed his horses, Honey and Dolly. He rode ATV’s, hunted and collected guns, went tubing behind the boat and loved to tinker around in his garage. His first car was a Pontiac GTO and it always remained his favorite. Despite his situation, Greg had an upbeat attitude and lived life each day.

Grateful to have shared his life is his wife of 20 years, Vickie James of Le Mars, IA; their children, Justin (Carina) Aduddell of Remsen, IA, Jesse Aduddell of Le Mars, IA, Jolene (Tim Gruis) Aduddell of Lake Preston, SD and Joelle (Justin Christensen) Aduddell of Climbing Hill, IA; eight grandchildren, Sky, Isabel, Maximus, Georgia, Haydn and Sawyer Aduddell, Asia Arre and Avery Christensen; his mother, Marjorie (Keith) Orban of Merrill, IA; his father, Russell James of Geneva, MN; a sister, Sharon (Jeffery) Bailey of Owatonna, MN; a sister-in-law, Annette James of Granville, IA; aunts and uncles, Roy and Laura Spaulding of Pierson, IA and D.J. and Judy Smutzer of Kingsley, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas James; and his mother and father-in-law, Lois and Delbert Sanow.
