DeLores Ann Hoxsie, 88, of Le Mars, IA passed away peacefully in her home on Wed, February 8, 2017, under loving care she so deserved. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Rejoice! Community Church in Le Mars. Pastor Mike Metten will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
She was born February 2, 1929 in Le Mars, IA, to Joe & Sadie Hettwer. She lived a life showing her willingness to give rather than receive. DeLores married Fred Hoxsie, Jr. of Marcus on January 22, 1953 and they lived there until moving back to Le Mars in 1967, where they raised their family. She was a caregiver for many years, who helped her patrons with household tasks they could no longer safely do themselves and few other jobs during her younger years. She was a person who truly enjoyed helping others. She also did her best to instill in her children the virtuous qualities that she was blessed with in her upbringing and shown by her mother. With hopes they would use what she had shown them during her care as children, in their own adult lives. As all parents hope for their children. Knowing that they will have to decide themselves what road to salvation they will follow.
DeLores was a regular visitor/worshiper of Rejoice Church. She enjoyed worshiping with the good people of the Rejoice Family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and her many friends. DeLores touched everyone’s heart that she ever met. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, and a sweet caring lady, she was loved and will be greatly missed by many who enjoyed her love. People who were willing to show her love and friendship while being part of her life was what made her smile.
Survivors: Children Janell Folkema of Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry (Lori) Hoxsie of Sioux City, IA, Jeff Hoxsie of Ft. Meyers, FL, Jalaine Everhart of Sioux Falls, SD, Gary Hoxsie of Le Mars, IA, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; Denise Furhman, Shelly Lloyd, Stephanie Folkema, Kaley Hoxsie, Brianna Hoxsie, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her oldest son David, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
