Bertha Irene “Bobby” Lindstrom, 97, of Le Mars passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp will officiate. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Mauer –Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the funeral service.

Bertha Irene Lindstrom was born on January 24, 1919 on a farm near Truesdale, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Irene McCoy) Sweet. She attended Truesdale School where she graduated from high school. She furthered her education at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa.

On February 5, 1939, Bobby and Einar Lindstrom, of Albert City, Iowa, were united in marriage at the Assembly of God Church in Truesdale following Sunday morning worship service. They made their home on a farm north of Albert City for fifty-two years where Bobby was a supportive and loving farmers’ wife and homemaker. In later years, she took a position at Buse’s Variety Store in Albert City, Iowa.

Bobby was a longtime active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City where she taught Sunday School and participated in women’s activities. She enjoyed playing piano, reading, sewing, crocheting, fancy work, gardening and cooking. She loved her grandchildren and was a real pet lover.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and their spouses, Ina Marie and Dr. Tom Bjorge of Le Mars, IA and Dee Ann and Tim Heisler of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren and their spouses, Karin Swanson, Dr. Jill and Jeff Nelson, Jan and Bernadette Bjorge, Britt and Michael Krizmanich, Sean and Claudette Ahern; great-grandchildren, Trina, Kari, and Johanna Swanson, Henrik and Ingrid Nelson, Annika, Linnea, Lars and Maja Krizmanich, Michael and Matthew Ahern.

Bobby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Einar; a grandson-in-law, Dr. Thor Swanson; two sisters and their husbands, Dorthea and Francis Meyer and Wilma and Glen Liebsch; two brothers and their wives, Edwin and Marie Sweet Jr., Daniel and wives, Lottie and Joy Sweet; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Mildred and Everett Hultgren, Elsie and Carl Kindwall.
