Kimberly Jean Lindgren, 42, of Kingsley, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, Iowa. Rev. Duane Miesner will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Johnson-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley. The family will be present from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Tuesday.
Kimberly Jean Lindgren was born on November 29, 1973 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Emma Barbara (Carr) Allner. Kim attended Woodbury Central High School in Moville and graduated in 1991. She continued her education at Stewart’s School of Hairstyling in Sioux City, Iowa.
On October 15, 1994, Kim and Cory Lindgren were united in marriage at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. They made their home on a farm south of town. Kim styled hair at a salon in Onawa, Iowa. She later took a position at Sam’s Club in Sioux City and worked in several departments while continuing to do hair in their basement.
Kim was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. She enjoyed photography, reading, traveling, baking, and spending time with family. She was always one to put her family and friends before herself. Anyone who came to know Kim always went away being a better person. She always opened her heart and her life to help friends and family in need. Her smile would light up a room and make you feel so loved.
Grateful to have shared her life is her husband, Cory Lindgren of Kingsley, IA; her daughter, Alexandra Lindgren of Kingsley, IA; parents, Walter and Barb Allner of Moville, IA; a sister, Susan and Mike Propst-Olson of Swansboro, NC and their children, Mandy Wipf of Sioux Falls, SD and Nicholas Propst of Tallahassee, FL; a brother, Chris and Lori Allner of Murfreesboro, TN and their children, Christopher and Megan Allner of Minneapolis, MN and Diana Merrill of Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, Dana Allner of Moville, IA and his son, Michael Allner of Moville, IA; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Karen Lindgren of Kingsley, IA; a sister-in-law, Wendy and Craig Moritz of Pierson, IA and their children, Mitchell, McKenna and Trae Moritz all of Pierson, IA; a brother-in-law, Kirk and Nicole Lindgren of Kingsley, IA and their children, Max, Dexter and Jaxson all of Kingsley, IA. Great nephews Darrien Wipf, Mitchel Wipf and Zevon Wipf, and great nieces Elise Propst, Jami Propst, Addison Merrill, and Zoey Allner.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a nephew, Matthew Propst.
