Condolence: John was always a great inspiration for me. As Pastor of Salem EFC in the 1980's we had the privilege of watching John not only serve the people of Hong Kong so well but faithfully represent the Kingdom of God in the transition there.

Later, when I becomes the EFCA's Urban and Intercultural Director I was, again, encouraged by John as he helped the Association of North American Evangelical Free Churches in their Church planting work. He was a GREAT advisor to me.

Condolence: Dear Grandpa,

We didn't get to see you as nearly as we would've liked to, didn't get to have those enthralling conversations or quiet Bible study sessions with you. We didn't think you'd be out of our lives so soon after moving to the States. We were looking forward to y'all moving down South and spending more time with us as the years went on. But alas, God's Will was done, and He had bigger and better plans for you in Heaven. Your Earthly family will always miss and love you, Grandpa. Especially your Schnickelfritz'.

Condolence: Dear Doris,

We were saddened to hear of John's death. Another soldier has gone home and what a joyous day that was for him. John's obituary was so well written and we rejoice in all the ways that God used John to spread the Gospel in China. We never worked in the same place as you both but will always remember the warm invitation John gave us to stay at your house while we were taking a little vacation in Hong Kong as a family... So generous and such a great time we had together. May the peace that passes all understanding guard your heart in the days ahead.

Condolence: Dear Neir Family: It breaks our hearts when death separates us from the ones we love no matter how young or old they happen to be. We are reminded in the Bible that God sees our pain and sorrow and has promised that soon death will be done away with...swallowed up forever.(Isaiah 25:8) He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting our precious loved ones to life again.(John 5:28,29) I hope in the days ahead as you reflect on the life of John, and the wonderful memories left behind, that you will also find much comfort in God's promises to us for the near future.
