Nadine A. Sailer, 81, of Le Mars passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Father Paul Eisele will celebrate Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Neptune, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present to greet friends from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a scriptural prayer service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to Mass on Wednesday.

Nadine Angeline Burenheide was born on December 26, 1932 on a family farm south of Dodge, Nebraska to Fred and Margaret (Bahns) Burenheide. She attended country school and graduated from Howells (Nebraska) High School in 1950. After high school she accepted a position at the telephone company in Fremont, Nebraska. She transferred to an office in Sioux City, Iowa and worked there until June of 1956. In Sioux City she met Martin “Bud” Sailer. They were united in marriage on October 22, 1955, in Howells, Nebraska.

In 1957, they resided on an acreage north of Sioux City. They lived there until 1971 when they purchased a farm east of Hinton, Iowa. Nadine thought this was a great place to raise her family. Bud passed away on April 8, 1990. Nadine remained on the farm until 2001 when she moved to Le Mars.

While living on the farm near Hinton, Nadine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Neptune where she participated in Altar Society. Her family was the center of her life, especially sharing time with her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting and trips to the casino with her friends. After she moved to Le Mars she became a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Nadine will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses; Marty and Ardell of Hinton, IA, John and Sharon of Le Mars, IA, Nancy and Klint Clausen of Sioux City, IA, Sherry and Brad Yoerger of Sioux City, IA, Mike and Melanie of Le Mars, IA and Pam and Greg Wells of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren, Angela, Wesley, Phil, Megan, Brittany, Aaron, Bridget, Tyler, Andrew, Nick, Zach, Shelby, Skyler, Kendall, Alex, Deven, Riley, Curran, Briena and Aiden; 7 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ann Doernemann of Clarkson, NE, Alice and Cletus Rolfs of Dodge, NE and Kathleen and Gilbert Ernesti of West Point, NE; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Burenheide of Howells, NE; brother and sisters-in-law, Bill and Pat Sailer and Mary Sailer all of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; a brother, Allen; and brothers-in-law, Wilfred Doernemann and Ron Sailer.
