Obituary for Brad M Ludwig

Brad M. Ludwig, 59, of Merrill, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Unity Point Health (St. Luke’s) in Sioux City, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Rev. Steven Stoll of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hinton, Iowa will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Bradley Monroe Ludwig was born on November 17, 1954 in Le Mars, Iowa. He was one of four sons born to Ernie and Lorna (Wiener) Ludwig. Brad attended school in Hinton. After high school he took a position as an ag mechanic in Avoca, Iowa. He continued this career in Sioux City, Iowa and later worked for Nutra-Flo.

On July 2, 1977, Brad and Kellie Bielenberg were united in marriage at 1st Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Brad was working at John Morrell meat packing at that time. Brad and Kellie purchased an acreage west of Merrill, Iowa where they farmed and raised their daughters. Currently Brad was employed with Seneca Companies where he constructed Casey’s General Stores. He enjoyed raising cattle and visiting with the neighbors.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kellie of Merrill, Iowa; three daughters, Tesha and her special friend Harley Goebel of Hinton, Iowa, Trista and her special friend Craig Berkenpas of Le Mars, Iowa and Erin Glenn and her husband Tyler of Merrill, Iowa; grandchildren, Kennedy, Kole, Karson, Kaden, Alayna, and Braylan; two brothers, Roger of Hinton, Iowa and Chuck and his wife Rhonda of Hinton, Iowa; a niece, Lorie Ludwig and her fiance Joe “Buddy” Truhe of Jefferson, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Rorie.
